Quora
Quora is a great community of people who ask questions, and/or give answers, on any topic you can think of. Get more traffic from Quora by answering questions relevant to your niche.
Start by creating your profile with a link back to your site. Then after you have interacted a little within the site, respond to Quora questions with a link to your post, or site. Don’t be spammy though, you need to give value to receive the greatest amount of attention.
You can also create a Quora blog, where you can easily link up your webpage and social links and may gain followers and get upvoted.

Snip.ly
Snip.ly is an awesome tool that can drive tonnes of traffic to your website by simply sharing content.

Long-tail keywords
Most website traffic these days is driven by long tail keywords. These are phrases used for specific types of searches, usually containing 3 or more words.
Using long tail keywords you may get less traffic per se, but the traffic you do get will be targeted and more committed to your services, and your CPC (cost per click) will be lower.
Ubersuggest is an excellent ‘free’ keyword tool that gives you loads of keyword suggestions.
If you can though, try Long Tail Pro, which is designed specifically for Long Tail Keywords and is the one tool that will make a huge difference in your ability to get traffic to your site. Click here to try it now.
Local Meetups
If you can find Meetups in your area, and in your niche (or closely related) you can become a part of a community that is interested in the same as you, and more than likely they’ll want to know more about what you are doing online.
You never know what these connections may turn in to.
Meetup.com is a great site with a high Google PR, where people specifically look for meet ups in certain targeted topics.
Just by joining and filling out your profile page with your website and/or related links can get you some traffic.

Think of an idea and create a short quiz on a topic that would appeal to your targeted audience. Make a great heading that draws attention, as most people will choose to click on a quiz based on the title.
Include a call to action, links back to your site, or exchange the quiz results for an email address to build your list.
Good quizzes are extremely shareable throughout social media, and can go viral before you know it.
People love taking quizzes to learn about themselves, whilst being entertained at the same time and love to share the results.
Slideshare
Slideshare is a site where you can upload and share presentations.
Slideshare has a bucketload of traffic, so there’s a good chance your slides will be seen by thousands, if they are good enough.
Create a free account, convert some of your awesome content into a presentation, and upload to the world!
Inserting the right call to action in your presentation, or social media sharing links, will get interested readers to click through to visit the site or page you want.
YouTube Videos
YouTube is a powerful marketing strategy for gaining targetted traffic. Being the second largest search engine on the internet, it should not be avoided.
Making a video for YouTube is relatively easy, but you need to create videos that are helpful and valuable that address the needs of your targeted audience.
As with anything, have a great title and description including the keywords you wish to rank for.
Create how to’s or walkthroughs on how to do something, like… how to use what you’re selling, or tutorials on something you are teaching.
Whatever it may be, make it great and give people a reason to share or like your video and be sure to engage with your viewers regularly.
Interlink your posts
Interlinking is important for google search rankings, as well as keeping people on your site longer, reducing bounce rate.
It is also a great strategy to get more traffic to your older posts, by linking back to them. Whenever you publish something new, go back through your old posts (or the most popular ones) and see how they can link to your newest one, or vice versa.
Also, display related blog posts by using the related post plugin. WordPress has a variety of these plugins you can use to display related blog posts sitewide, below each and every post published at your site.
Interlinking is one of the most important factors which you need to always remember for getting better search engine rankings.
Buffer
Buffer is a social media tool that allows us to schedule our social media posts and analyze the performance of them.
It only takes 10 to 15 minutes to set up a months worth of updates so it will go out frequently. Buffer allows you to share content to multiple social media sites.
The way you get more traffic from Buffer is by sharing your posts more regularly, it will help to build followers, which in turn will send more traffic to your site.
Also share posts multiple times, with different statuses… this is a way to reach new readers who haven’t seen any of your older posts.
Get the ‘Discover’ app
This app by ‘Sumome’ lets you add “you might also like…” content to the end of your posts.
When people are reading some content on other sites that also use “Discover”, your posts can be included on their sites, increasing the traffic to your site.
Email Signature
Make a signature with a link to your website in it, so it will be automatically attached to every one of your outgoing emails.
Whether you’ll be emailing friends, local companies, high traffic sites/blogs for questions or requests, you can have a call to action in it, telling people why they should click through to your site.
Try Wisestamp… it is a free email signature generator that integrates with your email and automatically loads beautifully designed, customized email signatures into your emails.

VCB is free and simple to use, just make sure you take the time creating awesome content that people will want to share.
Flickr
Flickr is a photo sharing site. To get more traffic from Flickr, start creating interesting images that target your niche, or share your blog images or screenshots.
Sign up, then upload the pics using proper tags (keywords) to make the traffic targeted. Make sure you say in the description of the photo: “Feel free to use this image, but give credits to http://www.yourwebsite.com”. This way you’re getting permanent, targeted, free traffic forever from anyone sharing your photos and crediting your link.
Start a Facebook Group
Start a niche specific group relating to your website, where members can easily be directed to your site.
To create a group on Facebook, you need to add at least one member. Use a friend or relative for this, they can be removed later. When choosing the type of group, I would suggest choosing a “closed” group, which makes it seem more exclusive, and members feel safer to what they’re posting.
Getting people to join your group is the hard part. Just keep promoting by way of social media, email signatures, forums etc… just to name a few. Some will find it just by search.
Once you build a community of like-minded people in your niche, you can share new articles you’ve written or added to your site, for targeted traffic.
Google+ Communities
G+ communities is a top way to drive traffic to your website. The same with other sharing communities or groups etc… you do have to put a little time into it. Be social and active and of course, don’t just blast links.
To find communities in G+, do a search in your Google+ account under profile… find and join communities in your niche, with lots of followers that are frequently engaging with one another. The more +1’s, shares and comments you see, the better the group will be for driving traffic to your website.
While the above tips can help you get more traffic to your blog and build your audience, it will still take a little time to start getting your site populated with the traffic you need to succeed.
Don’t give up too early.. keep trying new ways to promote your site all the time. And eventually your audience will grow.

Ok, first of all, these are brilliant methods I never would’ve considered. I started affiliate marketing back in 2005-2015 and had to give it up while deployed. Now I am getting to a point in my military career (yes, I know its been a long time) that I can dig right back in to it. But the game has changed, especially when it comes to traffic. Like I never thought of using Quora and hadn’t even heard of Snip.ly. That being said, I’m going to definitely request follow-up comments and posts. It has been frustrating lately keeping up on what works and what doesn’t. Thanks again for the post.
