The internet is full of great Affiliate Marketing resources and tools that are essential if you want to maximize your earning potential in Affiliate Marketing. However, searching for them all can take a lot of time.
Therefore, I thought it would be helpful to create a page with some of the best Affiliate Marketing resources and tools I know of. Some are free, some cost, most I have used, and the one’s I haven’t, I intend to as they come highly recommended from trusted sources around the web. Therefore, I will only recommend stuff that I have personally used, or I know will be helpful in your Affiliate Marketing venture.
I will keep adding to this list as I find out more, so I recommend bookmarking this page for your reference and convenience.
Feel free to check them all out using the links on this page for convenience but please note: some of the links on this page are affiliate links, and at no extra cost to you, I may earn a small commission if you decide to purchase anything using these links. Any commissions I earn, help in supporting the costs of running and improving this website. If you do, thank you. I appreciate you using these links and if needed, am happy to answer any questions you may have.
Domains and Web Hosting
Hostgator is my top pick for Web Hosting, having used it for many years with no problems.
Great price, 99.9% uptime, easy 1 click WordPress install and they will host multiple domains, so there is no need to pay more for hosting when you’re ready to build more sites.
Recommended – The Baby plan provides unlimited domains, bandwidth, disk space, email accounts and MySQL databases. Check out Hostgator here
Another great choice for Web Hosting, Bluehost is one of the most popular and inexpensive options available. It can be hard picking to pick between Hostgator and Bluehost. As with Hostgator, Bluehost is very affordable, also with 1 click WordPress install, host multiple domains, and near perfect uptime.
I have some of my sites hosted here… I was trying out different providers and honestly think they are very similar. Check out Bluehost here
In my opinion, it’s a personal choice between the 2.
Providing domain registration and hosting as well. Great service!
I use these guys to register all my domains as their primary focus is in Domain names and domain auctions.
Another domain name registrar that also sells hosting.
I have used Namecheap in the past to register domain names and they are a great registrar and had all the tools I needed for managing my domains.
Namecheap has an easy to use interface and domain names are very competitively priced and the web hosting packages are well thought out. Take a look at Namecheap here

Google’s Keyword Planner is a great starting point for keyword research of any type.
This free AdWords tool helps you search for keyword and ad group ideas, see how a list of keywords might perform, create new key phrases by multiplying several keyword lists together and more.
Google Keyword Planner is best used for generating keyword ideas and bid estimations that will help you plan your marketing strategy. To use the Google Keyword Planner, you’ll need to have a Google Adwords account.
If you don’t have one already, you can set one up here
I am such a fan of Long Tail Pro… It is a powerful keyword tool that makes finding relevant long tail keywords easy. Long Tail Pro is fast, effective, and very simple to use.
Search engines love long tail keywords and they are much easier to rank well for, than the single or double word more generic keywords. Long Tail Pro is a must have tool for any marketer, with the ability to capture literally thousands of keywords in seconds, increasing search engine traffic to your site will become a breeze.
Ubersuggest is one of my favorite free keyword tools.
What I love about UberSuggest is they generate almost all of the possible combination of keywords. Use it in conjunction with Google’s keyword planner… just copy it and paste it into the google keyword planner for details like keyword competition and search volume.
Also great for generating ideas for your long-tail keyword blog posts – Try Ubersuggest here
An essential keyword research and SEO competition analysis tool.
Other than Keyword research, Market Samurai is best for analyzing your competitors. Market Samurai gives you sooo much information on keywords and competition, allowing you to completely narrow down your keywords, so you will KNOW that you can rank for them on page one, what it will take and who you are up against… and what the potential rewards are.
Some other features include affiliate program search and ways to monetize, finding exact or partial match domains and more. They have really good tutorials on their site.
While there are tons of free themes available in the WordPress repository, Premium WordPress themes have a lot more going for them. Better support, generally higher quality, more advanced functionality and more. I have used many free themes over time, but I highly recommend trying out Premium Themes… It just makes the whole process of building, and maintaining your site so much easier.
Genesis by StudioPress is what I now use for all of my websites. I can’t believe how long it took me to invest in these premium themes. (I still kick myself for not doing this earlier)
Genesis Framework is search engine friendly out of the box and comes with an entire suite of Child Themes that supports different kinds of businesses. You need to buy the Genesis framework once only then a theme of your
choice (or several) or get the ultimate pack which is excellent value.
The Genesis framework is easy to use and allows lots of customization without needing to know code.
As the name says… great, professional looking, elegant style WordPress themes. Elegant themes have it all, providing great quality WordPress themes with user-friendly features.
Elegant Themes has a relatively inexpensive pricing structure… pay $69, get access to all 87 themes.

This is my tool of choice for email marketing. AWeber is a powerful email service used for collecting email subscribers and sending them a series of scheduled emails on auto-pilot.
AWeber is one of the most reputable email marketing services and offers a number of great features to ensure deliverability, and to maximize your success in email marketing.
I highly recommend AWeber to start your email marketing campaign.
GetResponse is another one of the best email marketing services out there, which comes with a whole pack of features to get you started. I haven’t personally used it, though it comes highly recommended around the web.
Some say it is easier than AWeber and has a few more features, one example being.. if you want to create landing pages, you should go with GetResponse, as Aweber doesn’t offer the ability to build landing pages.
Both of the above email services allow easy integration with many 3rd party services including eCommerce, social sites and landing page sites.
If you are not sure which option to choose, you may like to make use of their trial options. GetResponse and AWeber both offer a 30 day free trial. This can be a great way to get a feel for the products before you make the final decision.

Creating content and keeping up with it is not easy, and in order to boost SEO rankings and gain traffic, you need to have great content on your blog or website. Following are a few ideas I use for this.
This neat little tool spits out some quirky ideas. Simply put in a keyword and out comes some great blog topic suggestions. Some of the suggestions may seem a little silly as with most of these types of generators, but you’ll definitely get some great ideas. Try it out here
This is an awesome tool! I like this one the best out of all the content idea generators as not only does it generate hundreds of clickable headlines in seconds, but most of the results make sense.
The blog titles generated are broken down into several different categories – Lists, Questions, How To, Celebrities, Business, Motivation and more. You can be sure to find many titles that suit. See how it works here
This is a quick and easy to use blog idea generator to help you when you’re experiencing a little writer’s block. Simply input 3 topics you’d like to write about and this tool will generate a week’s worth of blog post topics with catchy titles for you. Try it out here
Using Buzzsumo for inspiration is something I do almost daily. BuzzSumo is a great content idea tool, in which it helps content marketers discover what content is being shared the most for any topic/keyword.
Buzzsumo gives you the data on what is working and what is not on Social Media, therefore helps marketers think of great ideas to create better optimized content.
While it does start at $99 for the company plan, the free account option is good enough for an individual blogger or a small company. Visit BuzzSumo here
Monetizing our affiliate sites is what we’re here for right?
Pretty Link Lite masks your links under your own domain, so you don’t end up with ugly affiliate links all over the place. This plugin makes it easy to manage affiliate links and track your clicks.
Also available in a pro version with tons more features
An alternative to Pretty Links that I use is Thirsty Affiliates.
It not only shortens your links and makes them Nofollow, but it also helps you organize and categorize your affiliate links.
The ThirstyAffiliates plugin is free, but they also offer several add-on plugins that can be purchased for way more functionality.
This is how you get that “Pin it” button when you hover over a photo, so people can share your images on Pinterest.
Simply install this plugin and your good to go. Learn more here
This is a great plugin that entices other bloggers to leave comments on your site.
When a reader leaves a comment on your blog and if they fill out the website field with their blog url, then CommentLuv pulls a link from one of the 10 latest blog posts from their site, which they can select to show along with their comment. Then vice versa when you leave comments on theirs or other CommentLuv enabled blogs.
CommentLuv is a great option for the newbie bloggers to pull traffic in to a new blog, this also increases the number of link backs to your blog, therefore improving your SEO. See the plugin here
This plugin is an amazing suite of free tools to help you collect email addresses through the use of popups, welcome mats, slide-ins and header bars. They also have many other innovative tools, some being paid extras, but what you get for free should suffice.
You should definitely consider using SumoMe to help you grow your site and increase traffic.
Check out what SumoMe can offer you here
There is almost an endless bank of WordPress plugins to choose from. This Affiliate Marketing resources page contains just some of the plugins I use and recommend. Read a more detailed post of the most popular plugins for Affiliate sites here

I bought OptimizePress a few years ago being recommended to do so by one of my mentors. I love it and still use it today, and think it is completely worth it as it is a one time purchase. No monthly fees! It is a WordPress plugin and a theme with some impressive features.
OptimizePress makes it easy to put up high-converting landing pages in a matter of minutes right from your WordPress dashboard. Use it as a plugin, and keep your existing theme, or use it as your theme, with easy blog setup included.

Pixabay is a site for sharing high quality public domain images.
This is the best place for finding quality images to use on your website or blog… for free!
There are many websites that offer free images, but don’t compare to the range and quality you get at Pixabay. You can use these images for either personal or professional projects and registration is not necessary to download them.
Fotolia is one of the largest stock photography websites in the world providing its users access to over 56 million images, vectors, illustrations and video clips.
All of the images offered on Fotolia are royalty-free, and can be used for any professional document or website.
Fotolia is more affordable than some of the other stock photo sites and includes pay-as-you-go, Monthly Packs and Daily Subscriptions.
Canva is an online graphic design tool. It offers free access to a wide assortment of design tools and options, as well as premium options.
It works by giving you a blank template and then allows you to search for images/illustrations to add. You can also add text, different layouts, and your own uploaded pictures.
Canva has ample free icons, infographic elements, photos, backgrounds, and more in their free visual resource database for you to use in your own designs. You have the option to add in premium elements at $1 each (which I have only needed to do a few times).
Canva can be a little confusing for some so I’d recommend some tutorials to help in which they have a beginners tutorial and design tutorials on the site.
PicMonkey is a simple online tool that allows you to create personal or business images, or do basic photo editing, quickly and easily.
With 4 main functions, Design, Edit, Touch Up or Collage it’s a great option to create graphics for your website, and one of the (better) free options available. It is relatively easy to use and figure out on your own, and you can use
PicMonkeys free version with no sign-in required. I made my first logo successfully at PicMonkey this way after failing with many other free online image tools.
I use the paid version now (at $33 a year why wouldn’t you), but you can do heaps with the free version.
Social Media Management
Buffer is a social media sharing tool that automates the timing of your social media posts, a bit like a “Social Media Assistant”.
Buffer offers a browser extension for Firefox, Chrome, and Safari, that lets you share content from any Web page, by adding a small icon to your browser. Schedule several posts ahead of time and you’re free to focus on other aspects of your business. Buffer allows you to become a lot more consistent and focused with your Social Media efforts.
Buffer has a very easy to use interface, and options for including several social networks, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google+ and Pinterest. The free version is good enough for most people but only lets you schedule 10 posts per social network.
A paid upgrade ($10 per month) includes unlimited posts, support for up to 12 social profiles, and the ability to have more than one person use the account.
Hootsuite is another Social Media management tool that lets users schedule posts in advance.
It also offers a browser extension, and supports the following social networks: Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn and WordPress. However, there are other social networks you can add, like Instagram, YouTube, Vimeo, Reddit, Flickr and several more, which you can add from the HootSuite App Directory.
Hootsuite allows you to schedule content at your own, manually chosen times, or you can use the auto-scheduling option, which allocates the best times to post based on your followers. You can monitor conversations in the dashboard of Hootsuite which is something you can’t do with Buffer.
Hootsuite offers a free, pro and enterprise solution for managing unlimited social profiles, free being suitable to start with one site.
Meet Edgar: The Social Media Queue That Fills Itself! This is a simple explanation of what Edgar does: it literally does all your Social media posting for you.
Edgar allows you to add updates to a ‘library’ in different categories, then you can ‘tell Edgar’ what categories to post from, and at what times you would like posts from that certain category posted.
After he posts an update, he’ll put it back in the library at the bottom of the pile, so he can post it again later when he runs out of new ones. So you get a never-ending update queue that fills and refills itself automatically. How cool is that!
This is great for getting older posts out so newer readers can see all of your stuff.
Edgar costs $49 a month at present so it’s a bit steep for some people who are starting out, but when you get underway with your business, I cannot recommend it highly enough. It’s worth every cent.
See what Edgar has to offer here.

Fiverr is a global online marketplace offering tasks and services, beginning at a cost of $5 per job performed, from which it gets its name.
My experience with fiverr is a big hit and miss.. in the past I have tried it for ghost writers for articles and/or blog posts etc and will not use it again for this. Got copied results all the time and spun content that doesn’t make sense.
It is good for simple logos or headers, possibly video voiceovers or the like.
Textbroker is an another affordable content creation service that promises unique content by negotiating different rates with online freelancers on your behalf.
I have had a few articles written from Textbroker, and they are not bad for the price.
If you need basic technical writing that doesn’t need to be too complex, it’s a great way to get ok content. A step up from Fiverr I’d say.
99 Designs is a great marketplace where you can get a customized logo for your business on a budget.
You can submit how much you are willing to pay for your logo, and you’ll get bid ideas submitted by several different designers sent back to you. The quality and choice you get will obviously go up with the amount you’re paying.
What I love about 99 Designs is that all the applicants show you their work, so you can select the best. It makes outsourcing a lot easier and you get much better results.

Capture an image of what is on your screen, or record all that happens on your screen for up to 5 minutes. Simple to upload to the web or social media when done. Great free tool but requires you download it first.
This is just a screenshot tool, but I had to include it here as it is free, and so simple to use.
Easy to understand and work with, simply highlight an area and take the shot. You are then able to edit it, in their built in editor or save it then edit it later. Saves a great deal of time.
